Description

White Ash is a ring porous hardwood and is fairly hard, heavy, and very tough. Ash features a light colored, nearly white sapwood; heartwood is typically tan or light brown. Ash is of the olive tree family. It grows throughout the UK, and represents about 3-5% of the total hardwood timber stand. White Ash grows across the entire Appalachian hardwood area. Lowland ash is generally faster growing, lighter and softer textured. Timber growing at higher elevations grows more slowly and is thus both heavier and harder. Ash has excellent bending and finishing qualities.

White Ash lumber is regularly sold in the rough cut form.  It can also be surfaced, (S2S), upon request.  Ash can also be provided to customers as SLR2E if desired.

Baillie Lumber provides all grades of Ash lumber including Prime Ash, FAS/1F Ash, and all common grade Ash lumber.
